Healthy Granola Recipe

I love having granola for breakfast but I hate how much added sugar there is in store bought options.

Below is my favourite recipe for homemade granola, low sugar but high fibre.

Ingredients:

115g maple syrup

2 tbsp honey

1tsp vanilla extract

300g rolled oats

50g sunflower seeds

4tsp sesame seeds

50g pumpkin seeds

100g flaked almonds

100g dried cranberries

50g coconut flakes

20g mixed nuts (I like almonds, pecans and brazil nuts)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 150C

  2. Roughly chop the nuts

  3. Mix the maple syrup, mixed nuts, honey and vanilla in a large bowl

  4. Mix well!

  5. Tip the granola onto two baking sheets and spread evenly

  6. Bake for 15 min

  7. Mix in the coconut flakes and dried cranberries

  8. Bake for another 10 min

  9. Enjoy! I like it served with fresh berries and kefir for some added fibre and probiotics

Enjoy!
